Chair Alarms are weight-sensitive pressure pads are for chair fall alarm monitor use. When connected to a fall prevention monitor, the pressure pad will trigger the fall alarm when weight is removed from the pressure pad itself. There are two general types of chair alarms - corded and cordless.  The corded alarm have a cord that is attached to the alarm from the pad - therefore, the alarm must be in the same room as the patient.  The cordless (or wireless) alarm offer the caregiver the option of having the alarm in another room of the home or facility.  Depending upon the alarm selected, the range of the wireless alarms can be as far away as 300 feet from the pressure sensitive chair pad.
